Today's Urban Renewal Network

TURN is like a bridge in our community.

By bringing local churches and community groups together, we have been able to achieve more focused, durable, and comprehensive impacts than any of these groups are able to accomplish, acting alone. In a concrete sense, we impact our community by coordinating the resources, volunteer talent, and social capital available across the Christian community, bringing these resources together in specific campaigns. TURN embodies Community Development at its best – using resources that are already there, indigenous to the community, to bring lasting transformation through relationships.

Our key initiatives currently include:

  • Providing foster families with local networks of loving support on an ongoing basis, to strengthen these temporary havens for young people and offer them a way beyond state support as independent adults.
  • Working to end homelessness in Riverside by unifying the churches in Riverside to address and prevent homelessness, leveraging more effective impacts than these groups are able to achieve alone.
  • Connecting the churches in Riverside together for a more unified and stronger faith community, with the common goal of bringing positive change to our neighborhoods.

What's Happening

Partnering with Riverside Churches
The 2nd Thursday of every month, TURN facilitates a meeting of local ministers who have a heart to serve our community and work together in unity. Through prayer, service and giving, this network of churches has made a profound impact on local families through our Foster Care and Homeless Ministries.
