Local Ministry among the Riverside Churches
TURN is grateful for:
- An area-wide collaboration of churches that represent over 25,000 Christians in our community.
- Financial support from our churches that has allowed for King's Hall Homeless Shelter to open its doors to our community's women and children when they needed it most.
- Churches that serve at the shelters by remodeling rooms, giving Bible studies, hosting programs for children and feeding with the Guest Chefs program.
Supporting Efforts in Northern Uganda
TURN's global ministry is all about:
- Networking and empowering ministries and leaders on the ground in northern Uganda.
- Supporting crucial advocacy and policy events like the Northern Uganda Lobby Day in DC and the GuluWalk.
- Partnering with Favor of God ministries on the ground in Gulu in the development of a Children's Village to care for the orphans who are the innocent victims in this conflict.
- Connecting families in the US with orphans in Gulu, where the $50 sent each month covers their school, housing, clothes and food. And, as always, 100% of all contributions for Uganda go directly to the ground – all of our time and administrative costs are part of the donation.
What's Happening
- Partnering in Gulu, Uganda
- TURN is overseeing the state-side operations of our partner from Gulu, Uganda, Favor of God Ministries www.favorofgod.org . Through trauma counseling, houses of prayer, a Bible college, portable Bible schools, youth ministry, prison ministry and the House of Hope Orphanage, Favor of God is bringing hope and lasting transformation throughout Gulu, the IDPs in northern Uganda and now into the Sudan and surrounding countries.
- Partnering with Resolve Uganda
- TURN will be supporting the efforts of Resolve Uganda www.resolveuganda.org on February 26-28 2008 as we lobby our representatives to encourage greater US involvement in the peace talks to help ensure safety in this very unstable region.
- Partnering with Riverside Churches
- The 2nd Thursday of every month, TURN facilitates a meeting of local pastors who have a heart to serve our community and work together in unity. Through prayer, service and giving, this network of churches has made a profound impact on the greater Riverside area.
